How the credit crunch has affected businesses

How the credit crunch has affected businesses
We are all having questions in regards to the economy and the decline that it is experiencing. One such question many are asking is how the credit crunch has affected businesses? From the big businesses all the way down to the small businesses, they are all feeling the impact of the economy and its decline. The banks have found that with all the unemployment that the country has been experiencing, more and more people are unable to pay the debt that they have and that is putting the banks in a poor state. They are suffering huge losses due to the mortgages and loans not being repaid. They are also feeling it from businesses of all sizes as well. The big companies are struggling to stay afloat and with this they have to cut costs to do so. They have cut thousands of jobs across the country which results in a trickle affect on the smaller businesses in the nation and around the world. The credit crunch has affected businesses of all kinds. Not one seems to have been safer than another. It has a domino type effect that is being felt by all. None have been safe from the dwindling economy. Once one sector is hit the rest seem to follow one by one. Some businesses are being affected so much that they see no other option than to shut the doors and claim bankruptcy. These are not only small businesses but large ones as well are seeing no light at the end of the tunnel and they as well are closing doors and leaving employees reeling without a way to make ends meet. Tourism and hospitality is also being hard hit by the slumping economy. With so many people out of work there are less people dining out and travelling that they are being forced to make cutbacks of their own in order to maintain some type of return on their investment. Even the health sector is seeing dramatic changes in things they are seeing. More and more stress related illness, such as high blood pressure, that re all a direct result of the poor economic situation. Also there are more and more people that are not getting the medications that they need to remain healthy. People have to make serious choices with times like these, like opting for food in lieu of medication that they need. The hospitals are seeing fewer emergency room visits and doctor’s offices are also seeing less people as they are opting to save the money for other things that they need instead. As we can see there is no safe sector out there when the economy is in a frail state. The credit crunch has had a huge affect on all businesses whether they are the large or the small.

Deregulation is cause of credit crunch

Deregulation is cause of credit crunch
People are often trying to pinpoint the cause of the economic decline that is occurring across the country. Well some will say that deregulation is the cause of the credit crunch that is upon us now. Many people are unsure what this really means, so that is what I will try to explain in some more simplistic terms that everyday people can understand. When the banks were given the ability to deregulate, people were able to get loans despite having poor credit histories and finances in a similar state. Some people were getting upwards of 100% of the financing to invest in homes. Many of these people were getting there homes with adjustable interest rates, but were finding that when the interest rates rose that they were unable to afford the payments that they needed to make. So with this happening to people, a lot of them would be forced into the position of foreclosure. With the amount of foreclosures this would make for a large increase in the number of properties that would be for sale and thus result in the properties that the lenders had invested in were not worth as much as they had loaned in the beginning. With the lack of regulations the banks and the financial institutions were free to run about and do pretty much as they pleased, thus the result that we are seeing now, an economy that has been devastated. Along with this the banks and other lenders are awaiting the government to help bail them out of the situation. Now if the government had have maintained some of the regulations, it is quite possible that the economy would not be where it is today. If they had some of the regulations that they did years ago they would not have been able to pull some of the risk taking measures that they have, and having them unable to do this would have helped to save our economy to some degree. Many people feel that deregulation is the cause of the credit crunch that the country is in now and that the government should step back in and regain some of the control that it had before the Reagan days. Now if the current government could impose some regulations without going to the extreme, it could prove to be a very beneficial thing for everyone that is involved, and quite possibly rebound the flailing economy. President Barrack Obama has a huge job ahead of him. With the new government now in place, maybe the necessary changes will now come about. We all hope that something positive can be accomplished.

Genealogy and identity theft

Genealogy and identity theft
Studies have confirmed that most of the identity thefts happen through the literal theft by friends, fellow workers, relatives, purses or mails, or fraudulent address changes. Identity theft is also known to happen to people who are slack about their own genealogical data, and are also casual about protecting other people’s genealogical data as well. The actual truth is that anybody can find out anything about you if they want to, especially if they try hard enough. There are several ways that can be used to protect your identity, as well as that of other family members. The most basic method to guard one’s self from falling victim to identity theft is by simply changing your secret question and answer. Most people normally use their maiden names as their password for their online personal information. If an identity thief wanted your maiden name, he would simply go to the courthouse and he will access your marriage certificate very comfortably. Some people use your name from where you went to school. It is very easy accessing such information if someone really wanted to get your personal identifiers. Therefore people should try to be more technical when it comes to question and answer sections, especially when it’s for your password. Most researchers share files among themselves. It’s only prudent to always privatize files you share with others so that you are able to prevent the inclusion of living people’s personal details such as names and date of birth. This could act as an easy source of information for would be identity thieves who will have it served on a silver platter if such information is left open to the public. Always try and exclude living people from your data base; if not, have two data bases. This is important because their personal information is not meant for the public, and who knows when an identity thief could be reading and getting ideas. It’s good to exercise confidentiality with others, and demand it of them. This way you will avoid putting other people’s personal information in harms way. Therefore it’s now a law that sharing the information of living people, without a signed assurance from the recipient that that information will not be shared with others, is an offence. It’s increasingly becoming very important to store important documents in a secure place, especially those that involve financial materials as well as the family members and your current personal identifiers. Don’t go around carrying original identity materials, especially when they are not needed. Carry photocopies if you really have to, otherwise leave them in a secure place to limit chances of becoming a victim of identity theft. Just to keep a tab on your financial activities, request your financial report at least once a year as it will help you identify any irregularities or fraudulent activities should there be any. ? ?
